Singapore Exchange Tour

With many years of experience in overseas camps, we have been dedicated to ensure the quality of teaching by tailoring each program to the needs of the students:

  • a team of renowned teachers is assembled to combine Chinese and English bilingual program training;

  • teacher-student ratio is maintained at 1:4, and students are divided into groups according to their age;

  • each student can take part in real-life debate competitions to experience the competitive atmosphere.

At the same time, we strive to optimize the exchange experience:

  • sharing sessions with well-known teachers from overseas;

  • touring around Singapore's attractions;

  • tasting authentic Michelin cuisine.

We make sure that the entire program is insured, and there are counselors and tutors always accompanying students to make them feel assured while experiencing different cultures.

Day 1

Check-in, ice-breaking, and group formation.

Singapore's busiest night market, Chinatown, is home to many century-old stores, specialty stalls and deli centers. Come and enjoy a good meal here to get ready for the next day's lesson!

Day 2

[Lesson 1] Philosophy

Starting from philosophy, students are be able to open their minds to unlimited possibilities. It is a way for students to understand themselves, to care about society, and to understand the world.

With philosophical enlightenment as the foundation of critical thinking, we kicked start the journey in Singapore.

[Lesson 2] How to Ask a Good Question

Asking questions does not mean rejecting other people's viewpoints, nor leading to an argument. Question awareness has always been a prerequisite for being able to look at things through an objective lense.

Students are divided into groups to learn how professional debaters possess questions, determine where the problem lies, and establish connections with audiences. After the lesson of effective communication, they went to a Michelin-starred restaurant to taste local food.

Day 3

[Lesson 3] Logical Reasoning

Logic is the key to convincing others. It can enhance the efficiency of language and effectiveness of communication. Through lively lessons, students can learn a lot of real-life examples and materials in activities, which will help them develop their reasoning skills.

[Lesson 4] Critical Thinking in Economics

Supply and demand in economics can be applied to a variety of issues. Simple illustrations and interactive games designed by us allow children to understand the basic concepts of economics. Throughout the discussions, students are guided by professional instructors.

Day 4

Students are divided into groups to compete with each other in a simulated debate competition. This is an opportunity to apply knowledge and skills they have learned in Day 1-3 while building relationships with their teammates who have been learning together for the past few days.

After the competition, students go on a night tour of the Singapore Zoo, listening to the sounds of the animals in the darkness of the night, looking for flying squirrels whizzing by overhead, and visiting one of the few zoos in the world that specializes in nighttime experiences. In some of the areas where there are no fenced areas, children are allowed to interact with some of the less-than-threatening animals in close quarters, so that they can fully experience the nature.

Day 5

Towards the end of the Tour, students are treated to the Singapore 200th Anniversary centerpiece event, the "Journey Through Show", a multi-media sensory experience that took them back in time to witness the pivotal moments of Singapore’s progression and transformation since 1299.

Historic landmarks, Falconer’s Park and the National Museum, are also visited to delve deeper into the history and culture of Singapore.

Day 6

In-depth visit to the National University of Singapore (NUS) enables students to get a glimpse of Singapore’s first higher education institution.

As the world’s leading university, the NUS is ranked No. 1 in Asia by Times Higher Education World University Rankings and No. 11 in the world by QS World University Rankings in 2018.

In addition, Vice President of NUS, also a renowned English debater in Asia, is invited to teach our students essential concepts and skills for English debating competitions.

As night falls, the Lion City of Singapore changes into a different look. A night tour of the Marina Bay gives students an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of the City.

Day 7

Cambridge law students are invited to talk about the preparation process of applying for top universities overseas. The speakers also share about how debating helped their studies and how the experience of critical thinking can be a plus point when applying for top schools overseas.

[Lesson 5] Learning Cultural Identity through Critical Thinking

In an era of globalization where any point in the world can be connected to one’s home, how can student’s extensive exposure to foreign cultures complement their own culture and language? This is particularly suitable to discuss in a multiracial country like Singapore. Students are gathered and encouraged to present their viewpoints and reflections in this regard.
